Colored Powder Silos – Germany

Country: Germany
Field: Storage and management of colored powders
Material origin: Colored powders for ceramic production
Storage: Battery of stainless steel silos
Downstream management: Transfer to small storage units, dosing, and mixing
Destination: Press feeding for technical porcelain stoneware tile production
Focus: Dosing precision, mixture uniformity, and process continuity

Objective

The objective of the project was to create a reliable system for the storage and management of colored powders, capable of ensuring dosing precision and mixing consistency, which are fundamental aspects in the production of technical porcelain stoneware tiles. In a process of this type, correct powder management is crucial for maintaining control over final product quality, recipe repeatability, and press feeding continuity.

Implementation

Zetacer developed a plant based on a battery of stainless steel silos dedicated to the storage of colored powders, designed to ensure order, material separation, and operational reliability. Downstream of the main storage, the system was configured for the transfer of powders into secondary storage units of smaller capacity, functional for more precise management of dosing and subsequent mixing. The entire plant was conceived to promote a regular material flow, reduce critical issues during handling phases, and ensure constant feeding to the presses, thereby contributing to a more stable, controlled production consistent with the standards required for technical porcelain stoneware.
